Friday's 5 To Live By

Each Friday our BCC staff links you to the top five biblical counseling and Christian living blog posts of the week—posts that provide robust, rich, and relevant insights for living.

The God of Awe and Intimacy

Pastor J.D. Greear reflects on a section from Tim Keller’s book, Prayer: Experiencing Awe and Intimacy with God, stating:

“That combination—awe and intimacy—has always been a central one as I reflect on my faith. On one hand, we approach God with awe, knowing how transcendent and majestic he is. But the wonder of the gospel is that we can approach that same God with boldness and intimacy, because he welcomes us as his sons and daughters.”

The 3D Gospel

Here at the BCC’s Grace & Truth blog, we don’t typically highlight the same blogger in one Friday 5 post. Today we make an exception. Pastor J.D. Greear’s thoughts on the gospel are well-worth pondering in The Gospel in Three Dimensions.

Are You Bitter?

Julie Ganschow helps us to ponder Are You Bitter in Soul?

What Are Our Images of God?

A new poll from the Public Religion Research Institute says that many Americans believe God plays a role in who wins and loses NFL football games. Denny Burk explores the poll results and the biblical view of God in Is God a Cosmic Fan in the Sky or a Disinterested Observer, or Neither?

Religion and Politics
